Sabres acquire Bjork, 2nd-round draft pick from Bruins for Hall, Lazar

The Buffalo Sabres have acquired forward Anders Bjork and a second-round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft from the Boston Bruins in exchange for forwards Taylor Hall and Curtis Lazar.
Bjork, 24, has five points (2+3) in 30 games this season. A fifth-round pick by the Bruins in 2014, he has amassed 39 points (16+23) in 138 career NHL games.
The winger is signed through 2022-23 with an average annual value of $1.6 million.

He set career-high totals in games played (58), goals (9), assists (10), and points (19) in 2019-20, adding one assist in 10 playoff games.
Prior to turning pro, he was named to the Hobey Baker Top 10 after his junior season at the University of Notre Dame in 2016-17, during which he tied for ninth in NCAA scoring with 52 points (21+31) in 39 games. He totaled 109 points (40+69) in 115 career collegiate contests'.
Bjork previously played for Sabres interim head coach Don Granato as a member of the U.S. National Team Development Program, where he was teammates with Jack Eichel, in 2013-14. He won a bronze medal alongside Sabres defenseman Will Borgen at the 2016 World Junior Championship.
The Sabres now hold 10 draft picks in 2021, including two in the second round. The team previously acquired third-round picks from Montreal in exchange for forward Eric Staal and from Florida in exchange for defenseman Brandon Montour. They've also acquired a sixth-round pick from Colorado for goaltender Jonas Johansson this season.
Hall signed a one-year deal to join the Sabres during the offseason and tallied 19 points (2+17) in 37 games. Lazar tallied 19 points (10+9) in 71 contests with Buffalo over the past two seasons.
The NHL Trade Deadline is Monday at 3 p.m. The Sabres play the Bruins in Boston on Tuesday at 7.
